We are seeking a bright, ambitious, self motivated individual to join our Commodities Internship program. A successful candidate will join Noble in Stamford, Connecticut for the summer in our Meteorology Group. To complement our growing operations, we are looking for an Intern to work alongside our Meteorology team to support energy trading interests within the company.

The Role                                                                         
Meteorologist Intern (Position based in Stamford, CT)

Job Purpose:

The Meteorology Intern will learn about the impact of weather on the commodities trading industry to provide pertinent weather information to stakeholders and to assist the meteorologists on staff.

The Responsibilities:

  • To assist in the organization of external weather information in order to maximize  information quality

  • The development of excel-based analysis and display tools for forecasts

  • Maintaining and updating historical datasets

  • A willingness to learn the natural gas and power markets

Requirements:

  • A rising junior or senior majoring in Meteorology

  • Completion of Synoptic Meteorology forecasting course

  • Demonstrated forecasting and analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Excel.

  • Excellent communication skills.

About You:

  • A strong attention to detail, you will be capable of multitasking in a fast paced environment

  • Preference given to students who have a weather risk management and/or financial background

  • A healthy interest in how weather impacts financial markets

  • Preference given to students who have completed  METEO 415 and METEO 460
