Weather Challenge begins January 30th - Register for Meteo 215

WxChallenge, is looking for additional students to develop a strong base for next years group. Because the spring contest has yet to begin there is no penalty for signing up for Meteo 215 now, so please consider picking it up, especially those first-year students who may have dropped in the fall. The department will request a waiver of the $6.00 late add fee.

This is a reminder that the WxChallenge, a nationwide weather forecasting competition for students, is starting up on January 30th. Meteo 215, the class embodying the WxChallenge, is looking for additional students to develop a strong base for next years group.   Because the spring contest has yet to begin there is no penalty for signing up for Meteo 215 now, so please consider picking it up, especially those first-year students who may have dropped in the fall.  The department will request a waiver of the $6.00 late add fee.

If you are interested in participating in the contest during the Spring semester and like any of the following opportunities:

  • earning a little extra credit this semester
  • developing and sharpening your forecasting techniques and communication skills
  • learning how the math and physics you learn can be applied to real weather
  • having the opportunity to win trophies and compete against other students and universities
  • building your resume and being presented with internship opportunities
