ABSTRACT:
The URGE (Unlearning Racism in GEosciences) program is a curriculum focused on providing tools and resources to help scientists develop policies that improve accessibility, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace and community. The PSU Geosciences department, led by Liz Hajek, Chris Boxe, and Maureen Feineman, participated in this program during spring 2021. This talk will describe the history of URGE, the goals of the program, details of the GEOSCI implementation, and lessons learned.
