Job description

Position Description:

The successful candidate will be part of a team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Air Traffic Organization Program Management Office in developing and deploying a major acquisition program. The candidate will primarily support the cognizant FAA Program Office by developing and maintaining acquisition schedules for the program.

In addition, the candidate will provide meeting support to FAA personnel, including organizing meeting logistics, attending meetings, preparing meeting minutes and reports, coordinating communication among attendees, and maintaining working documents. Frequent duties and responsibilities include developing briefings/presentations, preparing project plans and schedules, conducting ad hoc research efforts related to aviation weather and aviation safety, and writing/editing various reports.

The candidate must be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and convey a professional image in client meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • M.S. degree in engineering or a physical science (from an accredited college or university) + 3 years of relevant professional experience*
    BS. degree in engineering or a physical science (from an accredited college or university) + 5 years of relevant professional experience*
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project
  • Experience developing and maintaining master project plans and complex project/program schedules, including critical path analysis, resource loading, milestone monitoring, and risk identification and mitigation
  • Experience supporting the oversight of cost, schedule, and performance progress, as well as identification of dependencies and relationships for complex projects
  • Experience developing briefings/presentations for a variety of audiences
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Experience providing meeting support, including developing agendas, setting up and operating projection equipment, utilizing virtual meeting applications (e.g., WebEx) taking notes, writing meeting minutes, and tracking action items
  • Interest in and/or knowledge of aviation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexibility in managing competing priorities
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States without sponsorship
