Job Posting

The Department of Marine Sciences at UConn, Avery Point is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to study the evolution of coastal mesoscale convective systems. The candidate will work with Dr. Kelly Lombardo to quantify the influence of elevated terrain and the marine atmospheric boundary layer on convective storm processes and the associated severe hazards. The opportunity exists to participate in additional ongoing projects, including those in support of the Office of Naval Research (ONR) Propagation of Intra-Seasonal Tropical Oscillations (PISTON) Departmental Research Initiative (DRI). Inquiries for this position should be directed to Dr. Kelly Lombardo (kelly.lombardo@uconn.edu).

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of a Ph.D. in atmospheric science, physics, or a closely related area; and experience simulating convective storms using numerical models.
