Job description

Postdoctoral Associate with expertise in radiative transfer modeling, microwave and radar remote sensing, and data assimilation

Department: UMD/ESSIC
Starting Salary: Commensurate with experience

Duties:

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate with expertise in radiative transfer modeling, microwave and radar remote sensing, and data assimilation. The Postdoc Associate will work on enhancing Community Radiative Transfer Model (CRTM) scattering calculations, implementing an active radar forward module into CRTM, or data assimilation using JCSDA JEDI.

Qualifications:

A PhD in atmospheric remote sensing, physics, electrical engineering, or other related science/engineering fields is required. Strong programming skills preferably in Fortran, Linux Shell, Python, and familiarity with HPCs are desired. Candidates must be able to work in a group environment and collaborate across disciplinary boundaries.
