Job description

We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher to join CarbonWatch-NZ, a five-year programme that involves close collaborations across multiple research teams across New Zealand as well as international partners. The successful applicant will establish an urban scale atmospheric inverse model for Auckland, New Zealand's largest city and home to about a third of our population. The inverse model will use measurements from a newly established network of observing stations that include continuous measurements of CO2, CO, and CH4 from in situ analysers and discrete measurements of air in flasks that also include radiocarbon and carbonyl sulphide. This urban measurement network is a close collaboration between NIWA and our sister research organisation, GNS Science.

The position will be physically based at NIWA in Wellington, but the successful applicant will also work closely with Dr Jocelyn Turnbull and her team at GNS Science also located in Wellington.

Applications are due 31 July 2022.  To learn more or to apply, follow the link below.
