Forensic Weather Consultants, one of the fastest growing forensic weather consulting and weather data firms in the country is looking for a skilled and ambitious Meteorologist to work full-time in our forensic weather division. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in gathering and downloading numerous types of weather records.
  • Perform historical analyses of weather data and provide expert opinions about past weather conditions that existed.
  • Provide phone conferences with clients discussing past weather events and findings.
  • Prepare detailed written reports and affidavits for use in court.
  • Provide expert testimony at depositions and trials as needed.
  • Help maintain computer databases and servers.
  • Support office staff involved in consulting projects and cases.

Minimum Requirements to be Considered: 

  • M.S. or PhD in Meteorology (CCM’s with a B.S. in Meteorology will be considered).
  • At least 3 years of experience in operational meteorology.
  • Must be very knowledgeable in decoding METAR’s, weather observations, and other types of meteorological data.
  • Must be very proficient using GRAE and have strong Doppler radar and Dual Polarization analytical skills.
  • Must have a strong understanding of basic meteorology, winter storms as well as severe thunderstorm and hurricane structure. 
  • Must have a solid understanding of Mesoscale and Synoptic Scale processes.
  • Excellent Report-Writing and Communication Skills. 
  • Must be resourceful, self-motivated and very detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required. 
  • Experience with Linux/Unix, NCL, NetCDF, Coding, GIS, or Software Design/Development is not required, but is a plus.
