Job description: Full-Time Forensic and Severe Weather Meteorologist

If you love analyzing and tracking severe weather, Doppler radar and dual pol data, hailstorms, snowstorms, hurricanes and other weather events, this may be the perfect career for you. Forensic Weather Consultants is searching for a Full-Time Forensic Meteorologist. This is the perfect long-term career opportunity for someone with a great personality and excellent analytical skills who would enjoy working normal business hours alongside an energetic team of fellow meteorologists.

Job Responsibilities:

-Download Doppler radar images, satellite images, soundings, hurricane information, storm reports and other types of weather data.
-Analyze and study Doppler radar and dual pol data, surface observations, soundings, hurricane data and storm reports to determine if hail, high winds, or certain weather conditions occurred in the past. Prepare written reports explaining what the different weather records are showing and what occurred at specific locations (how large the hail was, how strong the winds were, how much snow accumulated).
-Provide expert testimony at depositions or trials as needed.
-Speak with engineers, adjusters, and attorneys about past weather conditions to support their needs.
 

Minimum Requirements:

-Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology.
-Experience interpreting Doppler radar, dual Pol images, soundings, satellite images and other weather data.
-Experience with GR Analyst is a plus.
-A solid understanding of severe thunderstorms, hurricanes, mesoscale processes and winter storms.
-Excellent report-writing and communication skills
-Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
-A love of thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, winter storms and all things weather.
